Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah said the federal government is not transferring benefits of low oil prices in the international market to the people. Criticising the government, the Opposition Leader said that the price of petroleum products has been decreased at the lowest level in the international market but the government is not ready to transfer its benefits to the people and collecting billion of rupees.

He said that the price of electricity was Rs 11 per unit when the price of petroleum product was $110 per barrel at international market. Now the price of petroleum product is around about $33 per barrel but the price of electricity is Rs 16 per unit. He said that the power load-shedding is continuing despite that it is winter season and oil price is also at the lowest level. "The government claims that circular debt has been ended but why is it increasing day by day", he questioned.

The opposition leader said that total debt was Rs 14 trillion till 2013 and now it has reached Rs 18 trillion. He said that we will pay 50 percent interest on this debt. He said the provinces have reservations over the implementation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said the federal government is losing the trust of the provinces. He said that CPEC should be implemented in the light of decisions taken in the All-Parties Conference.

Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Pir Sadruddin Rashdi while responding to a call attention regarding non-payment of dues to the affected people of Kuwait-Iraq war 1992 said the payment has been made to all those victims whose claims were approved by the UN.

He said more than 17 billion rupees were given to the affected persons of Kuwait - Iraq war in this regard. Later the House started debate on the President's address to the joint session of the Parliament. Taking part in the debate, Asiya Naz Tanoli said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a unique project and it will bring improvement in economic conditions of the country. She urged the opposition to appreciate good work of the government like national health programme, youth business loan scheme and package for farmers.
